The Cobweb Ballroom at The Dolphin, Marine Court, St. Leonards, Hastings, East Sussex opened on Friday, February 23, 1968 with At Last The 1958 Rock N Roll Show with Freddie Fingers Lee supported by The Mojos (Liverpool) from 7.30pm to 11.45pm.

It was also advertised as 'Cobweb' at The Dolphin

The Dolphin's new Cobweb ballroom will open on Friday. Booked for the opening night is the new 1958 Rock and Roll Band with Fingers Lee, supported by the Mojos. 
 
It was run by Paddy McKiernan (b. Patrick McKiernan d. 1991).
 
It had originally been called The Witch Doctor which opened on Saturday, July 17, 1964 with The Nashville Teens and Buddy Britton and the Regents. The last gig there was on Saturday, October 7, 1967 with Si's Reaction and the Coconut Mushroom and then it closed and reopened on Friday, February 23, 1968 as The Cobweb Ballroom.
 
The Cobweb Ballrooms' final gig was on Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24, 1970 with The Rudies.
 
On Wednesday, December 30, 1970 a fire at The Marine Court caused serious damage to The Cobweb Ballroom and The Dolphin Ballroom, causing damage to all the ceilings, floors and electrical equipment. Thus, the gig on Thursday, December 31, 1970 with Styvar Manor had to be cancelled.
