Browsing around the web, I came across a copy of a lost, great site, created by Red Admiral's Chris Ashman,  now sadly passed away.

Rather than let his efforts go unappreciated, I have used his hard work as the basis of this site, as a refelection of many musician's admiration for his tireless efforts to build up the Kent (and in particular the East Kent) music scene.

Initially, pages may be blank, stories could be outdated and  many of the images will be small as the orginal site was built in the days of high internet costs, slow downloads, etc.

This will be improved as new material comes in. We are adding almost daily!

Please add your comments to the pages.  It makes the site more readable and makes the editors feel someone is reading the site!

Please enjoy the site ... Add to it ... Revisit!

Thanks Dusty - your interest much appreciated.  Sites need to be paid for - both domain name and hosting - so presume that was the reason it went.  I knew Chris fairly well, having recorded at the studio many times.  I run manchesterbeat.com which has a huge 1500 pages and predated Chris's a little.  I know what effort he put in, so when I found a legacy copy, I though it should be up as a way of thanking him for all his work in SE Kent music.  I have updated/added what I can but I no longer live in UK so do it at distance. Aussie based since I left Herne Bay.

Hi Paul, KENTBEAT is a great site and well done for keeping it going - Special thanks for updating the DENIGH page, we appreciate that.
I've made some updates to entries elsewhere and have used the 'Groups' pages to research fellow musicians, the bands they were in and how that ultimately brought me and DENIGH together.
This may be what Chris had in mind, right from the start - a database of links, proving that all these bands exist because of each other - like it or lump it!      Too deep?      Maybe ..!
I can live with that.     Jon, DENIGH

Hi Paul,
I would like to ask you if possible to change the names of Couriers line up as the are completely wrong.  Far left, Gary Swinard guitar, Phil Swinard bass, Tim Relf drums and Andy Kealey lead guitar. Pete Kealey who played organ is out of shot.
Picture below.  Pete Kealey and Gary Swinard.
Thank you
Gary Swinard
